Hyperion Evergrowing: A Monster Evolution LitRPG

Leif Vin is mortally wounded and left for dead at the conclusion of a devastating battle. This book is a monster evolution story, and that will never change, but the initial goals of our protagonist revolve around him trying to reconnect with his humanity. Things change over time, but a lot of the first book explores what its like to be forcibly altered against your will, and the consequences of that change on a very personal, and somewhat depressing way. This obviously isn't for everyone, and there's a lot of fair criticism directed at the story, but I think the narrative goes in interesting and unique places because of it. Hyperion is less power fantasy / wish self-fulfilment than some other series, but that doesn't mean Leif is weak in anyway. It turns out there are several advantages to the protagonist's situation, and while they don't instantly turn him into a god of war capable of defeating anything with his eyes closed, Leif does grow into a force to be reckoned with. The story has a heaping of animal companions, some light kingdom building, heavy world building, and lots of character development for both the MC and a host of side characters. Oh, there's also a subplot about the origin of the system itself. Hope you enjoy!
